THE NEW JERSEY MONTHLY
After great deliberation and a flurry of balloting, the results are finally in for the
tenth annual restaurant poll. The New Jersey Monthly made it official, we were voted #1 in
their Best of the Best reader's choice awards.
Avi, Haim and the entire staff at the Kosher Nosh would like to thank all the readers for
their recognition. In return we will introduce more new and delicious items and offer an
even wider array of catering services.
It is very difficult coming to a consensus on just what constitutes the "BEST",
and even more difficult to maintain the high level of excellence it takes to even be
considered. It is a great feeling to be rewarded by the people, and we could not do it
without the feedback from our customers.
Our special thanks to all the readers and our customers for participating in the poll and
filling out their ballots, It's nice to become an "over night success" after
twenty years.
Looking forward to serving you, UNTIL THEN...... Happy Noshing.

Chef of the Week
Chef offers a Kosher Nosh "We'd like to think the people come here first and foremost
because the food is good," said co-owner/chef Haim of the Kosher Nosh........
In 1976, Haim and his partner, Avi, where drawn to 894 Prospect St. in Glen Rock,
where a previous eatery had gone belly up.
A barometer of Avi's and Haim's success is reflected by the reader's nod as Best Deli
in the 10th annual New Jersey Monthly Restaurant Pool. Pass through an adjacent door and
discover the dining area where tables and chairs are neatly lined in rows. A hub of
activity during lunch and dinner hours, customers are faced with some mind-boggling
decisions, beginning with a choice of soups. On any given day, there are at least five....
The soups serves as a perfect prelude for such nosher's favorites as homemade Gefilte Fish
accentuated with a dash of horseradish.... and the Nosh-In-The-Pot available either in
Chicken or Flanken. Brimming over the lid of its metal Pot..... Also noteworthy are the
Jumbo Stuffed Cabbage... and Israeli Pot Roast..... While repeat customers gravitate to
the Nova Scotia Salmon and Smoked Whitefish platters, accompanied by Lettuce, Tomato,
Bermuda onion, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw and Olives.
